Hi again! I need help with another question. "What is a possible third side to a triangle with side lengths of 14 and 5?

A. 9
B. 8
C. 5
D. 12"

Remember that the sum of any 2 sides of a triangle always must be greater than the length of the third side.

A. 9 + 5 = 14 so NO

B. 8 + 5 = 13 which is less than 14 so NO

C. 5 + 5 = 10 which is less than 14 so NO

D. 12 + 5 = 16 which is greater than 14.

12 + 5 > 14

14 + 12 > 5

5 + 14 > 12

It works for all 3. That means the answer is D.
