Answer:

Q2 = (B). 2

Q2 = (B). 2Q7 = (C) 9x - 2y = -40

Explanation:

Hello?

Q2:

When solving this problem, first you have to write

down the equation of the line (linear function).

Here, I choose to use Point Intercept Form

Take the first 2 points.

.(-1 , -12) & (2, 0)

The gradient = y/x

= (0 - -12)/ (2 - - 1), (12/3)

= 4

The Equation:

(y - 0) = 4(x - 2)

y = 4x - 8

y = 4x - 8Zero of the function; f(x) = mx + c

0 = 4x - 8

8 = 4x

x = 2

Q7

Values given:

Gradient: 9/2, Points (-4, 2)

Using the Point Intercept form of Equation,

(y - 2) = 9/2(x - -4)

Opening the brackets

y - 2 = 9/2x + 18

Simplifying

y = 9/2x + 20

Multiply through by 2 gives

2y = 9x + 40

Taking x to the LHS

-9x + 2y = 40

Divide through by -1

Gives

9x - 2y = - 40 <<<<<<< what we are looking for

I hope this helps. Have a nice studies.
