Multiply the first equation by 2, that gives you the second.
Any x,y works.

x+5y=4
2x+10y=8

x=-5y+4

2(-5y+4) +10y=8 substituted in the equation for x
-10y+8+10y=8 distributed
8=8 combined like terms (-10y+10y)
0=0
