Divide both sides by
5
4x - 1 =
2. Simplify
to 16
4x - 1 = 16
3. Add 1
to both sides
4x = 16+1
4.
Simplify 16 + 1 to 17
4x = 17
5. Divide both sides by 4
Were done! Decimal Form Would Be 4.25

5(4x-1) = 80
20x - 5 = 80
20x - 5 + 5 = 80 + 5
20x = 85
20x/20 = 85/20
X = 85/20
X = 17/4 if reduced to lowest terms by dividing both the top and bottom number by 5.
