The question deals with the knowledge of the standard unit meter. By convention, micrometer or µm has been assigned to mean
1* 10^(-6) meters. Therefore, 17 µm is equal to
17* 10^(-6) meters

We divide the height of the man with the length of the amoeba to arrive at a comparison.

(1.7)/(17* 10^(-6) ) =100,000

ANSWER: The man is therefore 100,000 times longer than the amoeba.

Height of man= 1.7 meters
Length of Amoeba=17 μm
As 1μ (micro) = 10^-6
Which is 1/100,000.
Now length of Amoeba= 17 x 10^-6 m
Which means that man is 100,000 longer than amoeba.
Answer: Man is 100,000 times longer than Amoeba.
