Explanation:

2x+3y=13..........(I)

2x-3y=5.….........(II)

Subtract equation II from equation I

0+6y=8

6y=8

y=8/6=4/3

Substitute 4/3 for y in 2x-3y=5

2x-3×(4/3)=5

2x-4=5

Collect like terms

2x=4+5

2x=9

x=9/2

Therefore,y=4/3,x=9/2
