x = 3/2 or 1.5

Explanation:

distribute 3 to the 2x and -1 by multiplying

6x - 3 = 6

add 3 to both sides to get 6x by itself and it keeps both sides equal

6x = 9

divide by 6

x = 9/6 = 3/2

x = 3/2
