Given the scale factor of circle A to circle B as 3/4

A:B = 3:4

Total ratio = 3+4 = 7

Area of bigger square A = 45sq. units;

The Total area can be gotten using the expression;


(4)/(7) * x = 45 where;

x is the total area of both circles.

Get x;


(4)/(7) * x = 45\\4x = 7 * 45\\4x = 315\\x = (315)/(4)\\x = 78.75

Area of circle B = 78.75 - 45 = 33.75

Let the fraction required be y

45 * y = 33.75

y = 33.75/45

y = 3375/4500

y = 45/60

y = 3/4

Hence the area of circle B is 45 * 3/4 of circle A

b)The ratio of circle A to Circle B is expressed as;

Ratio = Area of circle A/Area of circle B

Ratio = 45/33.75

Ratio = 45 * 100/3375

ratio = 4500/3375

Ratio = 4:3

Hence the ratio of circle A to Circle B is 4:3
