The Annexation of the republic of texas into the united states of America was done in 1845. When the republic was declared independent of Mexico and the majority of people favoured this move.
However, in order to avoid war with Mexico, a treaty was setup with Mexican diplomats. The unsolved dispute, however, gave rise to the border war between Mexico and the U.S.
