Michael has finished 25% of an art project that has taken him a total of 4 hours so far. If he continues to work at the same rate, how many hours will it take for him to complete the entire project?

Answer:

16 hours of total work time, 12 hours of work not including the original 4 hours

Explanation:

25 percent is 1/4

To get to a whole, you need to do 4*4.

That is how many total hours of work time, -4 (the pre-existing 4) you get 12 of added time on top of the 4

It will take him 16 hours because 25 is 1/4 of 100% so 4 times 4 is 16. So 16 is your answer :)
