$\huge \boxed{\sf x=2}\\\\\\\displaystyle \sf AC=AB+BC\\\\41=3x-1+14x+8\\\\41=17x+7\\\\Subtracting\ 7\ from\ each\ side \\\\ 41-7=17x+7-7 \\\\ 34=17x\\\\Dividing\ each\ side\ by\ 17 \\\\ (34)/(17)=(17x)/(17) \\\\ 2=x$

3x-1 + 14x+8= 41
17x+7= 41
17x = 34
X = 2
