Answer:

p=1160

Explanation:

Its's easy. If there ever is any number with a letter in the equation, you are most likely to divide that number. First, since 50 has a minus in front of it, you have to add that to the 50 in the equation AND the 240. When you do 50 plus the 50 in the equation it cancels out because -50+50 is 0 (you don't add the 0 to the equation because you are looking for p.) So, 240+50 is 290. Now, you have to divide 0.25 to the 0.25p AND the 290. 0.25 divided by 0.25p is 1, BUT you never put 1p you just put p because p is the same as 1. 290 divided by 0.25 is 1160. So your equation should look like p=1160

Sorry this took so long.

Answer:

p = 1160

Explanation:

0.25p-50=240

0.25p = 240+50 (Transfer the 50 and isolate the p)

(1)/(4)p = 290 (Changing the decimal to a fraction so it is easier to see)

(4)/(4)p = 4×290 (
(1)/(4)×4 =
(4)/(4))

p = 1160
