First we have to find the perimeter of rectangle A:

Formula for perimeter of a rectangle or square is:
2(a+b)

Putting the length and width in:
2(7.4+4.8)

Solve it to get: 24.4 cm

Subtract 14.9 from 24.4 to get 9.5 cm
