Answer: y= -2.5x+12
Explanation:
Skills used:
Finding slope from two points
Finding y-intercept from two points or a slope
Writing equations in slope-intercept form
Steps:
Write out the two equations as points: (-4, 2) and (6, -3)
Find the slope by using the equation:
, which gives us -5/2, or -2.5 (I'm going to use decimals)
Write it into slope intercept form: y= -2.5x+b
Substitute a point into y and x: 2= -2.5(4)+b
Solve to get b= 12
Put it into the full equation: y=-2.5x+12
