This equation was solved incorrectly.

6x – 2(4x – 6) = 16
6x + 8x – 12 = 16
14x – 12 = 16

14x = 28
x=2
Which step contains the first error? Explain the error.

what was i correct was the 2nd step since when multiplying -2x-6 it would be a positive 12 not a negative :)
