Answer:

Three consecutive numbers are x, x 1, and x + 2.

x + x + 1 + x + 2 = 126. Combine like terms

3x + 3 = 126 Subtract 3 from both sides to isolate x

3x + 3 - 3 = 126 - 3

3x = 123 Divide both sides by 3

3x/3 = 123/3

x = 41

x + 1 = 42

x + 2 = 43

41 + 42 + 43 = 126 for the check
