\underline{ \bf{\underline{\large{Terminal \: Velocity}}}}

  • The maximum constant velocity acquired by a body while falling through a viscous medium is called it's terminal velocity.
  • It is usually denoted by
    \sf V_T.
  • It is directly proportional to the square of the radius of the body (a²) & the difference of the densities of the body and the fluid
    \sf (\rho - \sigma).
  • It is inversely proportional to the viscosity of the medium
    \sf (\eta).
  • Formula of Terminal Velocity:
    \boxed{ \bf{V_T = (2)/(9) \frac{ {a}^(2) }{ \eta} ( \rho - \sigma)g}}
