P = 2L + 2W

square

2(8x) + 2(8x) = 16x + 16x = 32x.

rectangle

2(4x + 10) + 2(14) = 8x + 20 + 28= 8x + 48

32x = 8x + 48

-8x -8x

24x = 48

divide both sides by 24

x = 2

P = 32(2) = 64
