A recipe requires 8 cups of baking powder. You can only use 2/3 cups. How many 2/3 cups do you need for the recipe?

2/3 times 3 is 2.

12 of the 2/3 cups is your answer

That is my way of thinking. If you want the answer basically you divide 8 by 2/3. When you divide a fraction you multiply by its reciprocal.

8 3 =24 = 12

1 2 2 1

8 times 3/2 is equal to 24/2 or 12
