Ocean currents are streamlike movements of water in the ocean. These currents transport energy and matter around the globe. Suppose that one day, the Earth stopped rotating. In the space below, describe how surface currents would be affected if Earth stopped rotating.

Answer: well for starters the moon controls the ocean currents so if the earth stopped rotating then half of the oceans or lakes or rivers would flow and the others would keep going

Answer:

The ocean would have no currents.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Earth's rotation causes the ocean currents to turn in a process known as the Coriolis effect . Because of the Coriolis effect, ocean currents deflect to the right in the Northern Hemisphere and to the left in the Southern Hemisphere. Without Earth's rotation, there would be no ocean waves.

Hope I could help!
