Assume that the speed of sound in the air is about 344 m/s and there is no measurable time delay for light. How far away is a storm if you note a 4-second delay between a lightning flash and the thunderclap?

Answer:

read it

Explanation:

The echo is twice the distance, out and back.

So it took 2.35 seconds to reach the wall.

344 m/sec*2.35 sec= 808.4 m.
