Bipolar disorder can affect a persons day to day life in several different ways for each person affected. Depending on the severity, hallucinations and paranoia can affect their life so severely it is practically impossible to sustain a normal life with a job, family, friends, etc. many patients cannot live alone because self harm is a large killer in patients with bipolar disorder. If the patient is on medication then these problems will be lightened but there is still the chances of mood imbalance that can affect the medication and cause a severe drop episode. patients on new medication should be monitored in case of new symptoms and/or self harm or harming others because of hallucinations or simple mood imbalances. Bipolar disorder can affect things so small and yet it can ruin someone’s life. Sleeping becomes problematic, making friends is difficult, relationships can be ruined, having a job is nonexistent. Medication and therapy is the only possible way to be able to recover and/or live a normal and happy life dealing with bipolar disorder. patients with bipolar disorder are severely misunderstood in the media, causing them to be outcasted. if you know someone with bipolar disorder make sure to let them know you are there for them and don’t treat them as if their disorder is their being.

i hope this helped, if you need anything else for this question let me know.
