second hour, the store sold 3 fewer bottles of water than it sold during the first hour. During the third hour, it sold three times as
many bottles of water as it sold during the second hour. The store was paid a total of $117.00 for bottles of water sold during these
three hours. The equation shown below represents these sales.

1.5x+1.5x-4.5+1.5(3x-9)=117

3x-4.5+4.5x-13.5=117

7.5x-18=117

7.5x=135

x=135/7.5
