A recipe uses 3 cups of flour 2 cups of sugar write the ratio of flour to sugar. Then write the related rate and unit rate.

Answer:

  • The ratio of a certain thing say A to another B is written as A:B
  • To write this as a rate, put the left value A on top of the right value B so that
    A:B=(A)/(B)
  • So the rate is
    ((3)cupsofflour)/((2)cupsofsugar) read as 3 cups of flour per 2 cups of sugar
  • The unit rate means write the fraction as a rational non-fraction number so
    (3)/(2)=1.5\\so\\((3)/(2))cupsofflour/cupsofsugar = (1.5)cupsofflour/cupsofsugar
