Organism x has an enzyme optimum temperature of 37°C. Organism y has an enzyme optimum temperature of 41°C.

Suppose organism X is infected by organism Y. In response, organism x’s body temperature rises to 40°C. How will this change in temperature affect enzyme activity in both organisms?

It will increase enzyme activity in both organism X and organism Y.
It will decrease enzyme activity in both organism X and organism Y.
It will increase enzyme activity in organism X and decrease enzyme activity in organism Y.
It will increase enzyme activity in organism Y and decrease enzyme activity in organism X.

It is definitely not B. I have already done it once, and b was not it.

The answer is D since organism x has a n optimal temperature of 37 degrees Celsius and when organisms y enzyme gets incorporated with enzyme x it will increase enzyme’s x temperature therefore enzyme x will denature meaning it will unfold and it will loose its properties hence loosing its activity because its temperature has been altered.
