Billy has two ice cream cones. Cone A has 30 mL of ice cream, melting at a rate of 2.5 mL per minute. Cone B has 20 mL of ice cream, melting at a rate of 1.5 mL per minute. How long will it take for Billy to have the same amount of ice cream in each cone? 10 minutes 12 minutes 5 minutes 45 minutes

2.5ml x 10= 25ml of icecream will melt in 10mintues
30-25 = 5ml so in 10minutes 5ml of icecream will remain

1.5 x 10= 15ml of icecream will melt in 10minutes
20-15 = 5ml of icecream will remain

therefore in 10minutes the same ml of icecream will remain

Answer: It will take 10 minutes.

Explanation:

Cone A: 2.5mL x 10 minutes = 25 mL of ice cream falls in 10 minutes. 30mL-25mL=5mL

Cone B: 1.5mL x 10 minutes = 15 mL of ice cream falls in 10 minutes. 20mL-15mL=5mL

in 10 minutes, they’ll both be at 5mL
