Explain how to plot the point (3, –7) on the coordinate plane.

Answer:

First you go to the x-axis put your point on where the coordinate says. In this case, 3. Then go to the y-axis and put your coordinate there, -7. The x-axis is first also knows as the first number in the coordinate.

We have the values 3 and -7. The first number is x and the second is y. Meaning, x (the first number) would go on the x axis while y (the second number) will go on the y axis. We will plot x on 3 and since y is negative we will plot it further more down to -7.
