The particle of 2 velocities 10m/s due east and 12m/S in the direction 30N/E. What is the resultant velocity and the direction?

My other answer got deleted for some unknown reason, so I will be breif:

Add the vertical components of the two forces and the horizontal components of the two forces.....use these to find the mag and direction

Vertical = 0 + 12 sin 30 = 6 m/s

Horizontal = 10 + 12 cos 30 = 20.39 m/ s

mag = sqrt ( 6^2 + 12.39^2) = 21.26 m/s

Direction = arctan ( 6/20.39) = 16.4 degrees N of E
