Answer:

A.
f(n) =0.2n+4.8

B. The y intercept is 4.8

Explanation:

Given

a_n= 5 + 0.2(n-1)

Solving (a): Write as a function.

To do this, we simply substitute f(n) for
a_n

a_n= 5 + 0.2(n-1) becomes

f(n)= 5 + 0.2(n-1)

Open Bracket

f(n) = 5 + 0.2n-0.2

Collect Like Terms

f(n) =0.2n-0.2 + 5

f(n) =0.2n+4.8

B. The y intercept.

To get the y intercept, we set n to 0

i.e

f(0) =0.2 * 0+4.8

f(0) =0+4.8

f(0) =4.8

Hence, the y intercept is 4.8
