Given:

The equation is

4(x-3)+5=17

To find:

The solution of given equation.

Solution:

We have,

4(x-3)+5=17

Using distributive property, we get

4(x)+4(-3)+5=17

4x-12+5=17

4x-7=17

Adding 7 on both sides, we get

4x-7+7=17+7

4x=24

Divide both sides by 4.

x=(24)/(4)

x=6

Therefore, the value of x is 6.
