Explanation:

3x+2y=4 so x = (4-2y)/3

6x+3y=2

substiute x into the second equation

6((4-2y)/3) +3y = 2

2(4-2y) + 3y = 2

8 - 4y + 3y = 2

-y = -6

y = 6

Replace y into the first equation

3x + 2 (6) = 4

3x +12 = 4

3x = -8

x = -8/3
