( we subtract 3 from both sides)

- 3 -3

3t = 15

( then we divide both sides by 3 )

3t/3 = 15/3

t = 5

(and this is the negative part, we do most of the same steps as teh last one)

3t + 3 = -18

- 3 -3

3t = -21

3t/ 3 = -21/ 3

t = -7
