Rise = Vertical\ Distance


Run = Horizontal\ Distance

From the attachment, we have the following:

Triangle A


Rise = 6\ units


Run = 4\ units

So:


m = (Rise)/(Run)


m = (6)/(4)

In this case, Mai is correct:

Triangle B


Rise = 1.5\ units


Run = 1\ units

So:


m = (Rise)/(Run)


m = (1.5)/(1)


m = 1.5
