Hi student, let me help you out! :)

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

We are asked to solve the equation
\large\pmb{11x+2=5x+10+58}.

\triangle~\fbox{\bf{KEY:}}

  • The goal is to get x all by itself.

So here's how we solve the equation...

///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\///\\\

Notice that we can add 10 and 58 right off the bat:

\large\pmb{11x+2=5x+68}

Now we subtract 2 from both sides of the equal sign:

\large\pmb{11x=5x+66}

Now we subtract 5x from both sides of the equal sign:

\large\pmb{6x=66}

Divide both sides by 6:

\large\pmb{11}

That's the value of x.

Hope it helps you out! :D

x = 11

Explanation:

=> 11x + 2 = 5x + 10 + 58

=> 11x - 5x = 10 + 58 - 2

=> 6x = 66

=> x = 66/6

=> x = 11

Hope it helps you!!
