x/10+4=10

first you have to subtract 4 from both sides of the equation, because in the equation, it is a +4, so you must to the opposite. the two 4's cancel out and this leaves you with x/10=6. next, you multiply both sides of the equation by 10 (again, since it is x divided by 10, you multiply by 10). x/10(10)=x, and 6(10)=60. this leaves you with x=60
