Answer:

y = x + 5

Explanation:

Perpendicularity: Slope is the opposite reciprocal. In this case with it being -1 aka -1/1, the slope will be 1 aka 1/1

Find the opposite reciprocal of the slope

m = -1 = -1/1

so,

m⊥ = 1 as the opposite reciprocal is 1/1

2 - Plug the new slope into y = mx + b

y = mx + b

y = 1x + b

y = x + b

3 - Plug the point values in replacing x and y to get alone and solve for the y intercept, b.

y = x + b

-4 = -9 + b

+9 +9

5 = b

4 - Plug into the values into y = mx + b all together

y = mx + b

y = 1x + 5

y = x + 5

Hope this helps :)
