After the northern states began to become less and less dependent on the use of slavery some people ex. (Abraham Lincoln’s father) started to become disillusioned to the tortuous and inhuman practices of slavery upon certain peoples, mainly African Americans, and some even began to make notions of abolishment of such practices. These are the beginnings of the eventual rift in the political, traditional, and conscious belies among the American people.
