Explanation:

Put two points on the line, which I'm using (0,3) and (2,4) into the point-slope form:
(4 - 3)/(2 - 0) and solve to get
(1)/(2), which is your slope, or, when put into the y =mx + equation, it is m. Now your equation looks like y =
(1)/(2)x + b.

Substitute x and y from one of the ordered pairs, which I'm using (2,4) into the equation, which will look like this: 4 = 1/2 · 2 + b

Then solve: 4 = 1 + b

3 = b

Now you have your equation, y =
(1)/(2)x + 3
