Lin walk at a steady rate from school to the library. Lin can walk 12 miles in 4 hours. The library is two and a quarter miles away from the school. If she started walking at 3:15 pm, what time will she arrive at the library?

distance= 12 mile

time=4 hours

speed= ?

Step two

speed= distance/time

Speed= 12/4

Speed= 3mile per hour

given that the library is 2.25 mile (2 and 1/4)

the time it will take at the speed of 3 mile per hour is

time= 2.25/3

time=0.75hours= 1hour 15 min

start time= 3.15

time taken= 1:15

arrrival time= start + time taken = 4:30 pm
