What was the reason why the U.S decided to exploit and ban Chinese people from the U.S (Chinese exclusion act) Can someone answer it in a paragraph thankyou xx

Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 was to prevent an excess of cheap labor. (basically the u.s knew that a lot of Chinese people coming in would be cheap labor so they passed it to avoid this)
