While baking a pie Steven needs 3/4 of a cup of flour. He has 2/3 of a cup of flour. How much more flour does he need to borrow for the recipe?

Steven needs 1/12 of a cup of flour in order to bake the pie.

Explanation:

you want both fractions to have the same denominator when subtracting. so in order to solve this you would have to multiply 2/3 x 4, and 2/4 x 3. giving you 8/12, and 9/12. Then you would subtract 9 - 8 to get your answer, 1/12.
