Answer: 117/35 or 3 12/35

Explanation:

1 1/5 = 6/5 (improper fraction form)
2 1/7 = 15/7 (improper fraction form)

Now we can add 6/5 and 15/7. To do this we have to take the LCM of 7 and 5 which would be 35 and make the denominators equal by multiplying the denominator and numerator with such a number that gives 35 as the denominator.

=> (6 * 7)/(5 * 7) = 42/35
=> (15 * 5)/(7 * 5) = 75/35

Now we can add the fractions.

=> 42/35 + 75/35
= (42 + 75)/35
=> 117/35 or 3 12/35
