original equation

(x)/(2)-(3x)/(4)+(x)/(6)=-(2)/(3)

multiply by lcd

$12((x)/(2))-12((3x)/(4))+12((x)/(6)) =-12((2)/(3))\\\\6x-9x+2x=-8$

isolate for x

$-1x=-8\\\\x=8$

verify

$(8)/(2)-(3(8))/(4)+(8)/(6)=-(2)/(3)\\\\4-6+(4)/(3)=-(2)/(3)\\\\4-2+(4)/(3)=-(2)/(3)\\\\-(2)/(3)=-(2)/(3)\\\\LS=RS$
