Given:

Total ribbon beth had = 1 yard

Ribbon used for project =
(1)/(3) yard

She wants to divide the rest of the ribbon into
(1)/(6) yard pieces.

To find:

The number of
(1)/(6) yard pieces of ribbon she can make.

Solution:

Total ribbon beth had = 1 yard

Ribbon used for project =
(1)/(3) yard

Remaining ribbon is

1-(1)/(3)=(2)/(3)

She wants to divide the rest of the ribbon into
(1)/(6) yard pieces.

Let the number of
(1)/(6) yard pieces of ribbon she can make be x.

(1)/(6)x=(2)/(3)

Multiply both sides by 6.

(1)/(6)x* 6=(2)/(3)* 6

x=2* 2

x=4

Therefore, number of
(1)/(6) yard pieces of ribbon she can make is 4.
