What is a worm farm?
A worm farm can be a small container, but not too small, kept either inside or outside. It should be no less than 1 square foot in diameter and at least 4 inches deep. Worms need enough space to more around, and they also like to hide. The worm farm can be made of most anything that you have on hand at home. For example, a container made of wood, plastic, or metal will work.
What do worms eat?
Worms will eat most any food scraps, but the best food is organic waste, like peelings from vegetables or fruit. Instead of throwing them away in the garbage, give them to the worms. However, avoid adding onions, citrus, or dairy. The worms then eat the organic material, turning it into compost or top soil.
