Answer:

So essentially, you are trying to find what the overall whole is based off of a number that is the percent of the number. In order to do this, you must turn your percentage into a fraction over 100. You are going to then create the number that is a percentage of another number into a fraction over "x". Cross multiply the two fractions. Since there is an "x", count is as a zero. Now, create a fraction with the numerator as the number you just got from multiplying, and the denominator as the number you have to refer to as the percent of the whole. Since fraction is division, divide the two numbers and you get your answer. Sorry if this is so complex I tried to simplify it as best as I could

8 to 8/x

80x/80 = 800/80

800 divided by 80 is 10.

so, 8 is 80% percent of 10.
