She had said yes! Asami, the most popular girl in school, had said yes!

Edgar fell back on his bed, his head spinning. He never imagined he
would even go to prom, much less with the girl of his dreams.
Incredible!
When he heard the doorbell ring, he got up, his head still swimming
with images of Asami's beautiful face. He opened the door and there
stood Ellie Fitz, the girl who lived next door who had had a secret crush
on him since 7th grade. "Hey, Edgar," she said. "Do you want to go to
the prom with me?"
How does the use of point of view create suspense in the passage?

It is so you feel excitement for other characters. Almost as you are Edgar's best friends excited for him, but yet as you keep reading suspense for him later on.

Answer:

The use of point of view creates suspense in the passage by giving us or showing us the emotions that everything the main character is going through. It also helps lead up but first stating he completed his dream but then another girl arrived most likely gonna effect his decision, emotions, and thoughts on the situation. ( It makes the reader sort of go “oh.” In a way if that makes sense.

Explanation: I’ve had many question like this before on tests and etc but this is my opinion so if it doesn’t suit you it is fine.
