Can someone help me use more advanced words and help me transition the sentences better.

During the 1600s to 1750s worldwide exchanging networks promoted more commerce, Europeans conquered and colonized more of the Americas, the demand for African slaves to the New World increased, and global trade in tensified. In the Americas, Spain and Portugal were faced new competitors primarily England and France. With religious tensions added to the mix, the stage was set for decades of bloody warfare in Europe and the Americas.

In the Americas, Spain and Portugal were faced with new competitors. Those competitors were mainly England and France. With all the religious tension added to the mix, the stage was set for decades of bloody warfare for Europe and the Americas.
