A rectangular banner has a perimeter of 192 inches and a length of 60 inches.

What is the width of the banner? please answer!

Answer:

36 is the width.

Explanation:

A rectangle has four sides.

So the equation should be:

60+60+?+?= 192.

In order to cancel out the two 60s, you subtract it from 192.

So,

?+?=72.

The sides opposite of a rectangle is congruent, thus,

72/2=36.

The width of the rectangular banner is 36, and to check the answer you just plug all the digits in.

60+60+36+36=192.

width= 192/60
