slope = m , m = rise / run rise = change in y run = change in x

Explanation:

to find change in y just subtract the second y from the first , like thus,

P1=(-10,8) = (X1,Y1)

P2=(-15,-7) = (X2,Y2)

-7-8=-15= change in Y

to find the change in X just subtract the second x from the first, like thus,

-15-(-10) = -15+10 = 5

m= -15/5

m=-3

it's a slope of negative 3... make sense?
